Android is Linux. ChromeOS is Linux. Steam Deck is Linux. Raspian is Linux.
Linux is on your router. Linux is on your smart TV. Linux is on your server. Linux is on your car. Linux is on your e-reader.
By now someone’s going to say what they mean by Linux is “desktop” Linux. Mind you, “desktop” stopped being the dominant form of computing long, long ago, but I’ll bite.
ChromeOS is Linux. Windows supports Linux—albeit in a limited sense. While MacOS is not Linux, it is *nix—about as “Linux” as FreeBSD. If you didn’t know this, open a terminal and try a few commands.
However, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you know you’re using Linux. You still are using Linux. It’s a large reason your devices don’t cost an arm and a leg due to Windows licensing fees.
